Piwakawaka Room

Our Piwakawaka room caters for tamariki aged from 0 months to 2 years old. We separate this area into two rooms – non-walkers and walkers.

We understand that infants are totally dependent on others; therefore we provide a predictable, secure and calm environment for their growth and development with low teacher to child ratios. 

We aim to provide a peaceful environment for the children that is physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing. Our space is designed to accommodate the child’s changing developmental needs and interests. We strive to provide a balance of activities that help children to progress in social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. 

We provide open communication between parents and caregivers and we foster strong reciprocal relationships where parents feel confident leaving their child in our care.

Our infant space has a large outdoor area with a sandpit with water play and a playground specifically designed for younger tamariki. We love to get outside every day so we provide wet weather gear which enables us to experience the outdoors no matter the weather.
